yoga
When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Trained in Pranakriya yoga (200 hour Yoga Alliance certification), I have been fortunate enough to study under some pretty inspiring magical people including Yoganand Michael Carrol E-RYT 500, Marlysa Sullivan MPT, C-IAYT E-RYT 500, and Astrid Santana E-RYT 500. I have also completed Yin Yoga training with Douglas Johnson E-RYT 500, and Trauma Sensitive training with Holle Black E-RYT 500. I received my RYT 500 in 2022 at Tough Love Yoga studying under Neda Draupadi Honarvar, E-RYT 500, YACEP.
I love to share with my students the many ways that yoga has helped awaken and connect me; body, mind, and spirit. Drawing from my knowledge of the body from many years of studying dance and practicing yoga, my classes focus on alignment and introspection in a creative and playful way. I have been teaching public yoga classes weekly since 2015, and lead private yoga and mindfulness classes with Centering Youth, a 501(c)(3) non-profit yoga service initiative that brings Yoga and Mindfulness to young people in the juvenile justice system, and to those who have been sexually exploited, abused, or are experiencing homelessness.
